Mick was nervous. More than he had been in entire life yet he was ready for this. The ice hotel had been booked for a special romantic suite designed for couples in love and the guitarist had been waiting for this moment for a year or more. Ever since the chance encounter on the train, Mick had bottled up his love for Ziggy Stardust for a whole three years. Three fucking years and now, finally, he was about to ask the Anthean, his band mate and lover to marry him.

Oh bloody hell.

"Ok. Come on, Ronno, you can do this. Don't fuck it up. Ring. Check. Box---of course it's in the box. It'll be ok. Ziggy will understand."

The blond checking himself as he patted the inside of his jacket while he stood outside the entrance to the ice hotel in Norway. This was where Mick had wanted to take Ziggy ever since he heard both Aarne and Vars mention at one evening while they were drinking at the hotel bar. A special suite was already booked with a bed and fur blankets for warmth. A fucking ice hotel. Mick thought it would be freezing cold and perfect for his alien lover even if he might freeze his balls off. Weird and Vars said he should go for it so---here he was.

The ring itself tucked away inside an ornately carved gemstone case. Mick was all set. All he had to do now was to wait for Ziggy who was close by, probably taking it all in as he went.

Ziggy had become distracted by the beauty of the snow, but mostly, the delay had been changing. He knew Mick was up to something, a surprise. It was obvious in his emotions for some time now though the singer didn't know exactly what his guitarist was up to. He had made, in secrete, a kimono coat specifically for this trip. While he didn't know what was going on exactly, Ziggy did know this was important to Mick and instinctively wanted to add to it. His first thoughts were that this was the first time they were vacationing together, no band, no pretending they were only friends. That alone was enough to celebrate.

"Mick." Ziggy lit up when he saw the Brit waiting for him. The nervous energy was rolling off Mick but that was something he learned to expect whenever the guitarist planned anything. It was quite adorable and brought a wave of joy from the Anthean as he leaned in to kiss his lover's cheek.

"Zig. Oh, love this---it's fucking magical, like. A fairytale almost the whole ice palace thing I thought you'd love it being an Anthean. It's nice and cool inside. Shall we go in? It might be bloody freezing but I've got a surprise waiting inside for you."

Mick's cheeks instantly flushed a deep pink because shit---he was finally doing this. He was finally asking Ziggy to marry him! Oh god. The guitarist took his band mate's hand in his squeezing it inside his larger one as they stepped inside the ice hotel. Mick had already booked a room for them both and was heading towards it, walking through the iced archway and along the long corridor lit by warm lights. Neon but it worked.

"This is going to be special, love. Your kimono coat---it's beautiful. Just like you."

The blond touched the material and knew Ziggy had made it especially and it warmed the guitarist's heart.

"Are you going to be warm enough?" He asked with concern while taking Mick's hand. He loved the Brit but didn't want him to spend the night, or was it going to be days, uncomfortable in the hotel. "It really is beautiful."

Ziggy grinned as he followed Mick. The nervousness on the guitarist elating the Anthean who knew from the feeling it meant there was a present coming. "It is special. This is our first trip as a couple."

Sure, they had toured and that was all travel but this was just the two of them. He imagined some of the other couples would be doing the same during this break. That got a smile as much as the comment.

"I wanted to make sure you had the most beautiful girlfriend here." He whispered mischievously. "If you get cold, you can wear it."

Even if it would be comically long on Mick since it went to the floor with Ziggy wearing it.

"I should be fine, love. This place might be cold but I'm a tough lad growing up in the North. We have snow blizzards and thick snow most winters up at my parents. This will be better though because we can cuddle up to each other under the fur blankets on our ice bed."

Mick of course had researched the place first, finding out about the sleeping arrangements and how people actually slept on an ice bed in the first place. The blond wanted to make sure it would be perfect for the both of them. Squeezing Ziggy's hand Mick nodded.

"Our first trip as a couple. You're the most beautiful girlfriend in the whole universe, mate. Yours and mine."

The guitarist blushed and then giggled softly at how romantic all this would be. No idiot press bastards shoving cameras in their faces. Just them enjoying each other's company. Mick then raised an eyebrow at Ziggy's remark regarding the kimono coat.

"Bloody hell, Zig. It's huge! I'll look like a daft bastard with it trailing behind me like a fucking wedding dress or something."

He had to mention that word. Smirking, he kissed Ziggy on the cheek as he led him towards their suite.

"You're going to cuddle in the cold with your cold girlfriend." Ziggy giggled as he leaned in on Mick's shoulder.

"If I'm the most beautiful.. then you must be the most handsome." Ziggy could feel the nerves but also the happy excitement. Ziggy had wanted the man beside him for so long, accepted that they would never be together, and then everything changed.

"You'll look sexy no matter what you wear." Ziggy insisted while Mick led him through the hotel.

"I know, love. But with you I never feel the cold because you've got a warm heart in that sexy alien body of yours."

The last part whispered softly into Ziggy's ear so that no one else caught on about the red head not being human. Most would assume it was some kind of fond nickname or joke but Mick was always careful regarding his girlfriend's alien heritage. As they made their way down the icy hallway to their suite Mick could feel his heart begin to pound in his chest as his nerves took over. Oh bloody hell---this was it!

"We're here, mate. Let me get the key---"

Fingers shaking a little with apprehension, Mick finally unlocked the door to their spacious and rather luxurious icy suite. Fur blankets sat atop the ice bed which was almost heart shaped. Perhaps that was on purpose. As soon as they were both in Mick shut the door behind them and then wasted no time by bending down on one knee, facing Ziggy, and reaching into his jacket pocket. His heart beating so fast now and his throat suddenly dry.

"Oh love---this it's----well, I've waited so long for this moment. Ziggy Stardust---will you--"

Mick felt his breath hitch in his throat as he was now fighting back tears but good tears. Love and emotion wrapped up as his shaky fingers offered up the small gem box to the Anthean, opening it slowly.

--will you marry me?"

Mick's flirting had Ziggy giggling as they walked together. He had loved the man beside him since the day they met. To have him here now, to be going on vacation as a couple, was something Ziggy hadn't even dreamed of early on. Early on, just a touch or a smile was a dream, but this, this was their life now and it was beautiful.

Ziggy stepped away to let Mick unlock the door. Ziggy came in taking in the room. It was so beautiful, even more so with his eyesight which was beyond that of a human. He was slightly dazzled and didn't notice Mick kneeling until the emotions hit him. They were anxious, not just nervous, and something akin to worry.

"Mick?" Ziggy turned without a thought and got wide eyed at the gesture. The singer might be alien but he knew enough about human culture to suspect what was about to happen. He could hear Mick's heart racing and the speed of his breathing which caused the Anthean's usually slow heart to pick up pace too.

Ziggy didn't even see the ring, or maybe he did, but he was down on his own knees in a billow of fabric to give Mick a hug. The hug was full of fluttering emotions because Ziggy lost control of his empathy. The happiness and excitability of his emotions lacking their usual dampening from his mind keeping track of them.

"You know the answer." Ziggy whispered while stroking Mick's hair, then he pulled back just enough to look at the guitarist with a smile. Even with empathy and mindreading people can be caught off guard and Ziggy is a little bit. "Of course, Mick, I've wanted to be with you since the moment you stepped into my life."

Nothing would change that in his life. Mick was always the right one, or at least one of them.

Mick could hardly contain the happiness that was now bursting through into his words and emotions. The guitarist just feeling tears of joy roll down his cheeks because it had been three years of pining over the singer and now this was finally happening to him. He was getting married to his bandmate, lover and best friend.

"Zig I---I love you. This means so much to me and let me fit the ring on here---"

The blond's fingers shaking due to his heightened emotions as he slowly slipped the ring onto Ziggy's finger, sniffing and pulling the Anthean into a long hug, laughing with joy and not even feeling the cold of the hotel at all. His heart was filled with warmth and no doubt Ziggy was being bathed in Mick's emotions right now.

"Three years, mate. I was a daft sod but now---now you're my fiancee. This is the happiest day in my life. That and becoming a Spider."

Kissing Ziggy on the lips, Mick then took the singer's hands and squeezed them softly in his own bigger ones.

"I love you, too." Ziggy held out his hand so the guitarist could put the ring on his finger. He let out a giggle at the attempt to get the ring on with the shaky hands. He fell into that hug, wrapping his long arms around Mick. Ziggy's empathy was vibrating with happiness.

"I would have waited ten for you." Ziggy nuzzled into that hug. He kissed Mick and held him close. "I love you so much, Mick, daft fool and all."

Mick just had no words since all he wanted to do now was make love to Ziggy and snuggle in the Anthean's arms on their ice bed. How cold would the bed be? Ah well---it would be worth it underneath the furs. The guitarist's fingers now tracing along the back of Ziggy's neck gently touching underneath his hairline.

"I want you, love. Let me take care of you like any husband should."

The blond pressing kisses down the Anthean's neck gently moving his hand lower to caress the singer's ass. Mick was filled with love as well as lust as he pressed his body closer to Ziggy's.

Ziggy shivered from those fingers on his neck but he's grinning, happier than he thought he could ever be.

"Are you going to carry me to bed?" He leaned into Mick's arms, kissing his shoulder and so in love with Mick.

"Of course I am, love. This is the most romantic way to do it."

With a soft smile, Mick then gently picked Ziggy up in his strong arms carrying his newly proposed fiancee towards their rather impressive ice bed. It had reindeer furs lining the top and a few comfy fur pillows. Mick couldn't help but press kisses to Ziggy's cheek as he gently set the Anthean down onto the cool ice bed.

"How does it feel? I bet the temperature is perfect for you in here."

It was a little cold for Mick but he didn't care. He wanted it cold just for Ziggy. They could make love all night and it wouldn't be so stifling for the Anthean.

Ziggy wrapped his arms around Mick and didn't let go even when he was laid down on the bed.

"It feels good to be with you." He knew Mick meant the temperature but Ziggy was caught up in all the love. "No matter the temperature."

He gave Mick a kiss on the cheek and then giggled with a whisper. "What should we do to make sure you stay warm?"

"It feels good to be with you too, love. All of this---it's like a dream come true just being here with you in this ice palace."

Mick loved having Ziggy's arms wrapped around his neck as he kissed the Anthean softly on the lips while gently stroking that red hair he loved so much. The temperature wouldn't matter to Mick because he would soon warm up being in Ziggy's arms, making love to the person he loved the most.

"I know what I can do to stay warm and I think you do too."

The guitarist smirked and then peppered kisses down Ziggy's slender neck whilst moving to lay on top of his fiancee. His fingers threaded into the Anthean's hair, massaging his scalp gently.

"I wasn't going to let you get away." Ziggy grinned and winked at his partner... fiancé now.

Once Mick settled on top of him, Ziggy wrapped his arms all the way around the Brit, stroking his back gently.

"Maybe I want you to tell me?" Ziggy couldn't keep the flirting out of his tone. He grinned and groaned from the touch of Mick's hands. Ziggy returned the affection by stroking his hands over Mick's back.

"I know, love I---I was a bloody coward back then and a daft bugger for running. Just my emotions got the better of me, like. No idea what Weird and Gilly made of it."

Mick wasn't even thinking straight when he ran from the audition building and bolted for the station. He was stifled and couldn't breathe. That's all he felt when he ran and knew it was something he regretted but at least now he was with Ziggy.

"Mm, I love it when you stroke my back with your cool fingers."

The guitarist kissed Ziggy's lips softly and then carded his own fingers through the singer's red hair.

"I think Weird knew." Ziggy now knew for a fact that Weird had known back at the beginning. "You came back with me. That's all that matters."

The running was part of their story but it didn't matter as much as all the times Mick didn't run. Ziggy kept stroking Mick's back, almost massaging around the shoulder blades and spine. The kiss brought a smile as he stared up at the blonde. "I love you."

"You reckon he did? That man seems to know everything and things we don't. Maybe he's got some sort of psychic abilities or he's part Anthean or something."

That last part being a joke of course, but it was still amusing to know the bassist knew what was going on all the time. Gilly was such a fucking loudmouth tart back then too before he met Hunter.

"I love you too and I'm glad you like the hotel, mate. It's nice and cool for you."

Mick knew he might feel a little cold but didn't care because he had Ziggy and would find a way to warm up.

"You could keep me warm by making me sweat and pant."

"Except when Gloria liked him." Ziggy giggled and winked at Mick.

Ziggy pushed Mick's hair back. "Next time we can go somewhere warm for you." He meant it too. It was only fair for them to both get to go somewhere comfortable.

"Those furs looks comfortable." Ziggy enticed.

"Weird is a fucking kinky bastard behind closed doors I bet. All the quiet ones usually are."

Mick laughed a little then nodded at Ziggy's words about somewhere slightly warmer. He wasn't adverse to the cold, more he knew this would be more comfortable for the Anthean.

"I don't mind the cold, love, being a Northern lad. But sleeping on ice is a little chilly even for me."

The guitarist glanced at the furs and then pulled Ziggy in for a kiss.

"I've gone shopping with Gloria." Ziggy mentions mischievously.

"It looks like enough furs are over there to keep your ass warm." Ziggy smiled and leaned into the kiss. "Should we go find out?"

"Oh yeah? What's that like, mate? Does she buy kinky stuff and that for Weird?"

Mick grinned and then moved towards the furs, laying down in a seductive pose, beckoning Ziggy over with his finger. This would be fun and romantic since it was their engagement date.

"How about you warm me up, love?"
